Where the facts and images come from, and who made them.
Facts
Every structured fact on this site (each prize's year, category, official citation, laureate names, and share fractions) is pinned from the official Nobel Prize API and checked by an automated test on every build. The explanatory writing is synthesised from the official Nobel Prize pages and Wikipedia; each prize page lists its own sources.
Laureate portraits
Portraits are used only where a freely licensed image exists on Wikimedia Commons (Creative Commons or public domain). No other images are used, and no image generator was involved. Where no free portrait exists, a generated placeholder is shown instead. 67 portraits are credited below.
Build & design
Concept diagrams and hero art are hand-authored or procedurally generated as SVG, so the site ships no third-party image assets beyond the credited portraits. The site is built with Astro, runs as static files with no server, and works offline once loaded.
